Hello! Welcome to my online home. I’m Ashleigh, a journalist, book-lover and adventure-seeker who’s recently discovered a love of makeup, fashion and homeware.
I’m a writer through-and-through. I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember, and fell head-over-heels in love with magazines in my teenage years. That was when I knew that I wanted writing to be my job.
Now, at 276 years old, I’m a journalist, a blogger and an aspiring YA author. You’ve stumbled across my blog, which has recently evolved from a book-focused space into a lifestyle blog that I just don’t want to limit. Here, you’ll find plenty of geekery and tons of book chat, but also posts about beauty, fashion, home, travel and more.
I’m not going to pretend I know what I’m talking about when it comes to the beauty and fashion side of things. As a teenager and in my early twenties I was always very safe when it came to what I wore and I was an obsessive saver so I’d never spend money on things I simply really liked. Now that I’ve moved out and I’m married to the most awesome man ever, there’s nothing much to save for right now. For what feels like the first time ever, I can buy the things I want to buy, and I can spend money on beauty and fashion items that I really fancy experimenting with, and it’s great fun. I’m sharing those experiments here because I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels equal measures of fear and excitement when it comes to clothes and makeup, right?
I’m also fully aware that a good blog normally has a niche, and my blog pretty much encompasses everything you can think of. But I have decided that’s ok, because I love blogging and I want to be able to write about anything that takes my fancy.
So who is Ashleigh Online for? It’s for avid readers, fashion newbies, chic geeks, budget beauty fans, adventurers, wedding planners and home improvers. It’s for blog lovers like me who aren’t quite cool enough to fully relate to the completely fashionable and very nearly perfect bloggers (who I still love, by the way) but still want to try new makeup and clothes and read new books and visit new places. This is an honest blog from a girl who’s just like you.
You are more than welcome to contact me at email@example.com if you have a book or product you’d like me to review, or if you just want to say hi.
Please note: I’m part of affiliate schemes, which means that I may make a tiny bit of commission if you buy something after clicking on a link to a retailer on this website. I’d like to say thank you so much for that! It’s a very small fee but every little helps me keep this blog going 🙂
