Things are pretty exciting in my life right now, so I thought I’d take some time to sit down and share a little life update. It’s as much for myself as it is for anyone reading this – to help me get my thoughts in order about what the future looks like both in the physical world and here online.
If you’re a regular around here, you may have noticed that things have been a little quiet – that’s because I’ve been busy growing a tiny human and man has it made me feel like crap! But I’m now in my second trimester and feeling a lot better, so I am feeling the urge to get back to blogging.
For years, it must be seven or eight now, blogging has been one of my favourite things to do. I find it so cathartic to get my thoughts down on paper (even if it is digitally) and share them on my own little piece of the internet.
Most of the time, I write about books. But when I got engaged I found myself desperately wanting to write about the highs and lows of wedding planning, so I launched a second blog called Ashleigh Engaged and did just that. I kept it separate to hide it from my friends and family, as I didn’t want to spoil any of the details head of the big day.
I really, really enjoyed writing about lifestyle and fashion over on Ashleigh Engaged, so once the wedding had been and gone, I decided to roll Ashleigh Engaged into Ashleigh Online and carry on writing about whatever took my fancy right here.
I have loved the flexibility and freedom of that, but more often than not I still ended up writing about books anyway! Now, with a baby due in August, I imagine I’m going to write about pregnancy and parenting from time to time. I also have lots of other lifestyle and travel ideas that I want to write up.
I actually love reading blogs from people that write about whatever takes their fancy, so I hope you will too. Keep an eye out for an exciting competition coming right up and a post all about the first trimester and how to get through it. I’ll also be sharing my new round-ups of my favourite dystopian books, books about falling in love with a celebrity and books about anxiety, as well as my usual book reviews.
Books are always going to be at the heart of Ashleigh Online, but you may see some additional content around here soon and I hope you enjoy it as much as I’ll enjoy writing it.
So that’s about it for now, but I hope to see you around here again soon. I’d also love to come and visit your piece of the internet if you have one. Share links to your blogs in the comments below or on Twitter.
Congratulations Ashley! And I’m definitely in favour of expanding what you write about to cover more of your life. Pregnancy and baby content isn’t relevant to me, but your take on the things that become increasingly important to you definitely are <3
Exciting times ahead!
xx

Ah thank you, this is so sweet. I love how varied your blog is, because it’s clear that each and every thing you write about is something you’re passionate about or have a deep interest in. I hope I can do the same here 🙂
