I love the start of a New Year, don’t you? The fresh start always leaves me feeling completely inspired and motivated and that’s a feeling I truly relish. It ca n be pretty tricky to keep that feeling going beyond January, but this year I’m determined to stay inspired all year long. I’ve started a Bullet Journal, I’ve got a One Line A Day journal, and I’ve also got a new journal called Good Things Are Happening, which is what I’m here to talk about today (and I have a copy to give away!)
A few years ago I was really struggling to feel positive. To say I was feeling blue is an understatement, so after a few months of negativity finally decided I really needed to do something about it.
With some help from my mum I started a new journal in which I only documented positive things about my day. We called it a ‘Happy Journal’. It doesn’t sound like much of a big deal, but I think it changed my life completely. Each day, instead of dwelling on things that weren’t so great, I was looking out for things to write in my positive journal and it opened my eyes to so many things I’d missed before.
It’s been a while since I kept a journal like it, but I’ve been recommending it to friends and family for a long time and I truly think it can help you stay inspired. So when the kind people at Abrams sent over a copy of the Good Things Are Happening Journal I thought January was the perfect time to start focusing on the positives again to keep the motivation going all year long and I now have just the journal to help me do so.
Each page of the journal has space for three positive things and you can jot down the date, too. It’s bright and colourful and is bound to make you smile, particularly when you reach pages with quotes and moments of joy written in gorgeous type by illustrator Lauren Hom. There are also pages that encourage you to list your favourite songs or food or purchases which is a really nice touch.
Sounds great, right? Better yet, I’ve got a copy of Good Things Are Happening to give to a reader, and that reader could be you! All you have to do is enter the giveaway using the simple Gleam widget below and this journal could be yours. The competition will end on 12 February and the winner will be chosen completely at random the following day. You must have a postal address in the UK to enter. Good luck!
Let me know in the comments section below what you do to stay motivated, inspired and positive. Have you tried a ‘Happy Journal?’ Have you published any blog posts about similar journals or positivity techniques? I’d love to read them so please do let me know.
