You may have already spotted that things look a little bit different around here. I’ve given my online home a makeover (thanks Pipdig!) and have got a whole bunch of new plans for this blog. YAY. Let me explain.
Last April, I got engaged. It was both amazing and daunting, so in true Ashleigh fashion I wanted to write about it. Then I realised that Ashleigh Online probably wouldn’t be the best place to do that, because I knew that people I’d be inviting to share our wedding day with us follow Ashleigh Online and often read it. That’s why I created Ashleigh Engaged, a second (and sort of secret) blog that I used to share wedding-related posts.
What I hadn’t expected to come out of Ashleigh Engaged was a new love for lifestyle, fashion and beauty blogs, but the people I connected with as a result of my new blog were so inspiring and I began spending hours reading their blogs in addition to the book blogs I already knew and loved.
It wasn’t long before I felt the urge to write some of my own posts about lifestyle and fashion and beauty, and I felt that the best place for that was on Ashleigh Engaged. So I continued writing about bookish topics on Ashleigh Online, and about everything else I fancied on Ashleigh Engaged.
Fast forward to October 2016, when this happened:
We got married and it was bloody-well awesome (I can’t wait to share more with you soon).
Now, there’s nothing stopping me from sharing all of my blog posts with my friends and family, so Ashleigh Online and Ashleigh Engaged became one.
So what can you expect from the new Ashleigh Online? I’ll still be sharing plenty of book-related content. After all, they’re my favourite, and even our wedding was book-themed. But in addition, I’ll be sharing my favourite beauty products; new fashion, home and geeky purchases; amazing brands I come across; reviews of places I’ve visited; and much more.
I’m slightly nervous about it all, because I’ve built Ashleigh Online up as a book blog for four years and this is a pretty big change, but I hope that both my bookish buddies and the new followers I’ve gained from Ashleigh Engaged can enjoy reading this blog as much as I enjoy writing it.
You can find out even more about the new Ashleigh Online on the About page.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below or on Twitter. And do share links to your blogs too, whether they’re bookish or lifestyle-related, and I’ll be sure to take a look soon.
Yay! 😀
Love it! Xx
