From the very beginning, I knew I wanted mix and match bridesmaids. Little did I know how difficult it would be! I’ve now purchased all seven of the girls’ dresses from David’s Bridal, and in total there are four shades of purple. Fingers crossed they’ll look amazing but I’m still not 100% sure I’ve got it right. We will soon find out though – there are only four months left until the big day (give or take). Eek! (Update: I’m writing this almost two years after our wedding and loving reading back on my old blog posts when I had the separate Ashleigh Engaged blog! You can see what our own mix and match bridesmaids looked like on our big day at the bottom of this post).
But I did so much research into mix and match dresses for inspiration and ideas, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to share some of my favourite looks from around the web and hopefully inspire you too. Let me know if you’re planning to have mix and match bridesmaids, or share photos of your big day if you did.

I am completely in love with these dreamy dresses from Jenny Yoo (available here). I very nearly went with these in the colours below, but the price including shipping and handling was going to be SO HIGH so I had to look elsewhere.
Similarly this look below is gorgeous. And there are seven bridesmaids there just like we’ll have! I think these might even be the same Jenny Yoo dresses but in slightly lighter colours, but I wanted to share because it’s another example of how gorgeous mix and match can look.

Below is a look that takes mix and match to the next level, with different dresses AND different colours. It’s a celeb wedding this one – the lovely Ashley Tisdale. So, so gorgeous.

Of course, purple shades aren’t the only colours you can mix and match. Our wedding is in autumn so I wanted to keep things dusty, but there are also summery options with a mix of pastels, and other autumn and winter colour palettes that look amazing.
